Marketers welcome the audiences, it is our job to ensure they feel safe, motivated and enthused to engage with cultural work. Producers and marketers help build the relationship between the artist and the rest of the world. - Kat Carrido Bonds
MY APPROACH
From Then til NOW
My approach is rooted in grassroots community organizing and engagement for a common purpose that is deeper than money.
I manage production teams that energize events, gatherings, and convenings to help people connect and stay within budget.
These productions and the process to create them have a beginning, middle, and end.
Yet the memories and connections can last indefinitely. Perhaps even change perceptions, break stereotypes, and change the world for the better.
For most cultural-based or culture-specific forward brands, there is more of a financial limit than the brand giants. So it is imperative to get creative with a unique strategy that is resonant and can strike a balance. — Kat Carrido Bonds
Crafting Powerful Narratives
2001 - CURRENT
My experience spans a wide spectrum of events and gatherings, from local festivals and national film screenings to concerts and theatrical productions.
For over two decades, I have bridged gaps and amplified Los Angeles as a vibrant cultural hub working as a cultural event producer across multiple communities.
Leading as part of the collaborations on projects establishing legacy, honoring ancestors and elders, amplifying marginalized communities, illuminating connections between groups and healing some kind of gap, wound, disconnect, or ignorance.
My kind of marketing is, how do we share the authentic voice with the world so they are enticed to show up to the experience and engage? — Kat Carrido Bonds
Etc.
Lady behind the scenes …
In addition to my professional accomplishments, my love for arts and culture has infused my life with a rich tapestry of perspectives. I am proudly born and raised in Los Angeles, where I continue to be based.
I am constantly inspired by connections between cultures. Being in community with various groups and communities, and intersections within them, endeavoring to learn, honor respect their lens, language, historical context. Never a monolith. Finding common ground and connection.
I have studied Filipino Martial Arts, was once part of a spoken word crew called the Balagatasan Collective, hip hop and R&B are my favorite music genres, and I still have my teen gothy heart 🖤.
